For Organizers

Set up a session

You can create a session from any browser on any device.

  1. Log in to your account and click 'Sessions' from the navigation menu
  2. Click 'Create session'
  3. Fill out the form
    • Title: We recommend keeping the title relatively short, you can include a description in the "Notes" section
    • Courts available: Be sure to update this number so players are correctly assigned matches
    • Maximum players: For the best player experience we recommend setting the 'Maximum players' to 5 times the number of courts e.g. 20 players on 4 courts, 30 players on 6 courts, etc
    • Type: We recommend using the "Standard" session type when you have only men or only women. Opt for "Coed" when you have both men and women in the same session to avoid pairing two women against 2 men.
    • Notes: Include info such as what time courts will be availabe for warm up, what time matches start, the organizers contact info, and a message to hype up your players

Run a session

You can run a session from any browser on any device.
Take attendance

We recommend taking attendance before you get started to make sure all your players are ready to go. To make any adjustments tap on the player in the 'Player' list

Start the session

  1. Log in to your account and click 'Sessions' from the navigation menu
  2. Click on your session under 'Upcoming'
  3. Go to the 'Players' tab to ensure all your players are present and ready to play
  4. From the session 'Home' click Actions > Start session
  5. From the 'Rounds' tab click 'Start new round'*
  6. As games finish, organizers and players can enter scores by going to the current Round in the 'Rounds' tab**
  7. Once all scores are entered, organizers will see the 'End Round' button. You may need to click 'Refresh' to see the updated scores and ensure they have all been entered
  8. Click 'End Round' and then you'll have the option to 'Start new round' and do it all over again
*If you accidentally start a new round and discover a player is not there or needs to sit out you can delete the current round from the bottom of the 'Rounds' tab, make updates to players, then start a new round
** We recommend asking players to review scores entered by other players because once you end the round scores are no longer editable

End the session

  1. You cannot have any rounds in progress to end the session
  2. When you're ready to end the event go back to the session 'Home' and click Actions > End session
  3. The players tab will show everyone's final rank in the ladder

Session types

👥 Standard
This is our standard ladder session and it's recommended for sessions with only men or only women. Players will switch partners and opponents every game and players may move up or down a court when they win or lose, but movement is not guaranteed. See our FAQ for more info about player movement.
♀️♂️ Coed
The Coed session is similar to our Standard session, however it accounts for gender. We will avoid pairing two women against two men. To account for this, players will be required to enter their gender when they sign up. Equal numbers of men and women are not required, so strictly mixed matches are not guaranteed. i.e. There may be 3 men and 1 woman, or 3 women and 1 man on a court.

How standings work

Score
Score is our default metric for standings. Score is determined by wins and weighted according to which court the match was played on. Wins on higher courts are worth more than wins on lower courts. For example, on a 5 court ladder wins on court 1 are worth 5 points and wins on court 5 are worth 1 point. Ties are broken by looking at wins, losses, then final ladder rank.
Wins-Losses
Sort on wins & losses if you're not interested in where the wins occurred. First we sort by wins, then by losses. Ties are broken first by score then by final ladder rank.
Win %
Win percentage is similar to wins & losses, however you can have the same win percentage with different numbers of wins and losses. For example if Player A plays 5 games and wins 2 of them, this is equivalent to playing 10 games and winning 4 of them. In the case of ties we look at total wins & losses, then score and final ladder rank.
🪜Rank
Final ladder rank is your position in the ladder after adjusting for results of the last game. In general, the players who won the last match on court 1 will be in the top positions and players who lost on the bottom court will be in the last positions. You can see your current ladder rank at any time during a session from the 'Players' tab.
